It brings us great joy to celebrate the partnership formed between the Sickle Cell Disease Association: Philadelphia/ Delaware Valley Chapter (Medical Director, Dr. Marjorie Dejoie) and Bellissimo Creations (CEO, Mellisa Gordon). Bellissimo Creations was created from the desire to keep people abreast of advancements in Sickle Cell Anemia through the joys of cupcakes and fundraising events. SCDAA/PDVC is a nonprofit community based organization which addresses the psychosocial, social, biopsychosocial and comprehensive needs of the sickle cell population.
It is our pleasure to have this opportunity to ask you to join us for our Spring event, the second annual Sickle Cell Anemia Fundraiser, Cupcakes & Bow Ties on Friday, April 17, 2015.
This year’s event includes: Business “Pop Ups” , speed dating (for businesses), music, dance performance, 2 minutes business pitches, website displays, raffle prizes, media coverage, professional photography and videography coverage, testimonials, food and of course cupcakes!…amongst other things.
Our first Cupcakes & Bow Ties was a successful event that showed us there were more people who wanted to join us and play and integral role in creating awareness amongst peers and others. Providing an arena for those living with the illness to showcase their business and network with other Philadelphia entrepreneurs and small businesses has proved to be very empowering, beneficial and profitable.
We would love to have you at our event. By supporting Bellissimo Creations, and SCDAA/PDVC you are supporting Sickle Cell Anemia research and supportive services, the health of our community and the hope for future advancements. The reality is that we live in a melting pot with two degrees of separation between us because we all know someone, who knows someone who has Sickle Cell Anemia. Help us to make it a memorable event!
